The Vanishing American is filled with heroes and heroines, villains and other folks important to the story in various ways. Zane Grey's West Society is presenting its analysis of the major characters in the novel and those real-life people who may have inspired them. While we have leads on other lesser characters, that information is not being presented pending further research. In addition, we present only a portion of what is available... the minimum we feel is needed to clearly identify characters and their real-life counterpart... so we don't ruin the first-time reader's experience.
