Humber River

The last stop for three members of Zane Grey's 1929 Newfoundland Team was at Big Falls on the Humber River.  Zane Grey along with R.C. Grey and George Takahashi had returned to the US.  However, the "youngsters", Romer Grey and Bob Carney, stayed for one final fishing fling under the oversight of Laurie Mitchell.  The Humber River was all the way back to the west of Newfoundland, but we know the trip occurred at the end of the trip because Romer is in one of the photos.  He had not yet joined the group when it visited the Conroy Valley at the very beginning of the Newfoundland fishing adventure. We have no indication of whether the fishing was successful though Big Falls is known for producing nice Atlantic Salmon.  After this final stop, these last three members of the team headed west to join Zane Grey at Green River, Utah for an automobile/horse tour of places the author had visited in the Southwest during his career.
