Lobby Card - The Mysterious Rider 1933

Here are the last two lobby cards in the set of 8 for the 1933 Zane Grey movie, The Mysterious Rider.

The Storyline from IMDB - The ranchers have given money through Benton to the crooked lawyer Harkness to save the titles to their land. When Harkness gets a better offer, he steals Benton's receipt for the money and Benton is jailed. To fight back, Benton escapes jail at night to become the Phantom.

Based on Reviews, it appears that the movie bears little resemblance to the Zane Grey novel of the same name.  Before the Depression, Grey had total power over the stories and plotlines of his films, but after the Depression hit, financial circumstances changed, and Grey had little control of how his movies were made.  As a consequence, the studios capitalized on the Grey name and borrowed his novels' titles but didn't bother with such details as making the movie match the book from whence it got its title.

This movie was rereleased in 1952 under the title The Fighting Phantoms.  Fighting Phantoms can be found on DVD for your viewing pleasure.
