Betty Zane—Youth Edition

When the beautiful but headstrong Betty Zane went to live with her brother, Col. Ebenezer Zane, at Fort Henry on the Ohio frontier, she had no way of knowing what her presence there would mean to the settlement in the days to come. She also had no way of knowing what it would mean to the handsome stranger who had just arrived from Virginia, determined to make Fort Henry his new home, as well.

Betty Zane, Zane Grey’s first novel, was originally published in 1903. It tells the thrilling true story of his own great-great-aunt, Elizabeth “Betty” Zane, who is credited by history with helping to win the last battle of the Revolutionary War in 1782.

This Youth Edition of the story was edited with young readers in mind, but adventure lovers of all ages will enjoy this heroic tale.

Cover art/illustrations by Anne Hazlett Foreman.
Map of Fort Henry by William A. S. Kreutz.
